In the jungle-clad mountains of the Sierra Nevada, Colombia, we visited a cocaine lab run by a coca farmer. How do you make cocaine? Take some coca leaves, a number of nasty substances, add some bullets, some scary para-military soldiers, a dash of guerrillas, some corrupt cops and a pinch of coca farmer, and you’ve got one of the world’s deadliest drug cocktails.

Is this the kind of protecttion you can expect in Foster care? I am copy/pasting the story.16-year-old boy charged in rape of girl, 4
By LYDA LONGA
Staff Writer
HOLLY HILL — A 16-year-old Daytona Beach boy has been arrested in the rape of a 4-year-old girl, Police Chief Mark Barker said today.
The sexual attack occurred Friday, Barker said, and after a weekend investigation and an interview with the suspect, Patrick Rashawn Jamerson, police charged the teenager with sexual battery late Monday, Barker said.
You know, no one said CPS was perfect. I lived in 12 homes. I was abused or neglected in many of them. At times I was treated as badly as I was by my bio-parents.
But in some ways the system tried…and in some ways the system failed.
Instead of bitching about the system, get involved and do something productive to change it and then you have the right to bitch. Volunteer with foster kids, lobby to your congress people with APPROPRIATE documentation, but first you need to be correctly informed and educated about the foster care system.
I am a survivor of a system that is terrible. But, I actively try and change it, not sit around and blame it.
I have the knowledge, the facts, and the DOCUMENTATION to challenge what is wrong. That’s what people listen to. Not shit from a misinformed angry person.

Flagler Beach is a tiny very quiet ocean community just north of the Ormond-Daytona metropolitan area. The beach is very near I-95 in this part of the coast, so it is easy to get to. Unless you want traffic, crowds, and condo canyons then you’d best give Ormond-Daytona a miss and take I-4 E to I-95 N and exit at Hwy 100, Flagler Beach. Most of the motels and diners will be just south of Hwy 100. There is a fishing pier right there. I have often seen dolphins in this area and once spotted a whale.
It’s a very pleasant drive from Flagler to St Augustine, and Anastasia State Park is a wonderful seashore with huge tidal pools full of live fish and crabs. At that point I advise giving up the coastal route until north of Jacksonville as traffic is very heavy and slow.
If you have time, take the family to Cumberland Island National Seashore, E of I-95 in at Georgia Exits #1 & #2. This is an all day trip as you must ride a ferry boat over. No vehicles are allowed on the island, not even bicycles, but cold freshwater showers and flush toilets are available. You must pack out EVERYTHING you pack in, and that includes banana peels and soiled diapers. There are wild horses running free on the island.
